Days of Listening: A Full Series Audiobook Giveaway for Those Who Like Some Woo-Woo in their Crime Thrillers

I’ve been stalking myself for the past couple of weeks. Well, stalking my books anyway, checking retailers and dashboards every day (maybe a few times a day). And yesterday, finally… IT’S ALIVE!! By “It,” I mean the audiobook version of Heir, Book Three of the Dead Hollow trilogy, which has taken forever (in my best annoyed kid voice) to go live on Audible. That means, as promised last blog post, we’re going to do something fun. But first, a quick intro for those of you who aren’t familiar with Dead Hollow. The crime thriller series with a dash of the supernatural is Read more…

Spreading a Little Holiday (and Audiobook) Cheer!

You may have noticed that the blog post is coming out on Saturday instead of my usual Friday. (If not, maybe you need to look around and see if you’re at work when you’re not supposed to be.) There’s a reason for the change in schedule, which I’ll get to in a bit. As I told my Reader Group folks (aka Newsletter, for those of you who aren’t cool kids), this week I approved the first twenty-minute sample of my Heir audiobook—yay! I’m so excited to wrap up the trilogy in audio (you can get it in ebook or paperback Read more…

Feral Pig Friday! (Yes, I Have a Book Out, But I Know You’re Really Interested in Piglets)

It’s been an interesting week here on the rock. We’ve had copious (though generally low intensity) thunderstorms, which makes for lousy satellite internet and a dwindling supply of doggie drugs. The rumbles are due to hit again in about an hour. But the storms are only a small piece of the canine and other mammalian drama (more on the latter later). It seems like there was something else going on, too… Oh yeah—Heir, the final book in my Dead Hollow trilogy is now available! Yahoo! The ebook is everywhere, and the paperback should show up on Amazon any time now, Read more…

How frizzled is your frazzle? Enough to be a Dead Hollow character (or creator)?

Guess who’s frizzle-frazzled this week? Honestly, I’d guess at a minimum most people in the United States, but I can say without equivocation that I AM. And how. There’s the baseline political insanity. I don’t talk politics here, but if you’re reading this post far enough in the future that you’re no longer memorably scarred, just an FYI that we’re in the middle of Kavanaugh Confirmation Crazy. (It took remarkable restraint to use the word crazy rather than a much naughtier and far more satisfying word that starts with c and ends with a similar sound.) I’m proud to say Read more…

An Update on Lava and—oh yeah, Writing! With Bonus Crazy Lava Sky Pictures

We’re still here, and still breathing (sort of) in Lower Puna. I don’t want this to become the weekly lava bulletin, and I don’t want to get sucked down the rabbit hole, so I’ll keep my update relatively brief, with promises for a more in-depth post soon. (I’m also adding Lava blog post categories to the dropdown.) The lava is still flowing, often much faster. It crossed another highway, buried two wells at Puna Geothermal Venture in lava, and is threatening other residential areas, triggering additional evacuations. Seeing a couple of the huge, 40+ passenger Super Stallion military choppers flying overhead Read more…
